216. March 2014 tour of Myanmar itinerary for 3 pax.


Revised Itinerary

Day 01...(20 MAR / THU): - Arrive Yangon (at 10:40)
                                       - Private guided sightseeing in Yangon (private car)
Upon arrival in Yangon you'll be met and transferred to hotel in a private car.
After taht, you'll be guided for sightseeing in a private car to the places of interest in Yangon.
 - Private walking tour in the Colonial downtown of Yangon
 - Chaukhtatkyi Reclining Buddha
 - Landmark Shwedagone Pagoda
 - Stroll around the evening farmers' market

Day 02…(21 MAR/ FRI): - Fly from Yangon to Bagan (FLIGHT: W9143 - 06:30 / 07:25)       
                                     - Private guided sightseeing in Bagan (private car)
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll be transferred to Yangon airport for your flight to Bagan.
Upon arrival in Bagan, you'll be met and transferred to hotel for check-in.
After that, you'll be guided for full day sightseeing to the places of interest:
 - the most beautiful Ananda temple
 - the landmark Shwezi Gone temple 
 - Unique Manuha and Nanpaya temple
 - More dominant monuments if time permitted
 - Horse cart ride among the ancient temple and village
 - Sunset and Panoramic view from a fairy high temple

Day 03…(22 MAR/ SAT): - Day-return private guided excursion to Mount Popa (private car)
Breakfast at the hotel.
You'll be guided for a half-day excursion to extinct volcano, Mount Popa and the villages along the way. 
 - the place of spirit worshiping and animism
 - a beautiful resort of Mount Popa
 - Popa Hillock and its wild life                 
Return to Bagan in the afternoon.
After that, you'll be able to enjoy a private boat ride on Irrawaddy River in the later afternoon to observe how the local spend their time by the river.
And then enjoy the sunset on the river.

Day 04…(23 MAR/ SUN): - Fly from Bagan to Mandalay (FLIGHT: W9143 - 07:45 / 08:15)
                                       - Private guided sightseeing to Amarapura and Sagain(private car)

After that, you'll be transferred to Bagan airport for your flight to Mandalay.
Upon arrival in Mandalay, you'll be met and transferred to the hotel (1-hour drive).

 - The world longest teak bridge, U Bein - Amarapura

Day 05…(24 MAR/ MON): - Half-day private guided excursion to Mingun (private boat)
Leisurely breakfast at the hotel
After that, you'll be transferred to the jetty in Mandalay for an excursion to Mingun, an ancient capital before Mandalay on the other side of Irrawaddy River.
You'll be enjoying sightseeing to the places of interest in Mingun and the relaxing private boat ride (45 minutes one way):
 - Way of lives along the river
 - Landmark unfinished Pagoda
 - World biggest ringing bell
 - Typical village lives of a village in upper Burma
And then, return to Mandalay by the private boat.
After that, you'll be guided to the following places of interest in Mandalay.

 - Sunset and panoramic View from the top of Mandalay Hill

Day 06…(25 MAR/ TUE): - Fly from Mandalay to Heho Airport (FLIGHT: W9201 - 08:50 /09:15) 
                                      - Transfer from Heho Airport to Inle Lake (private car)
                                      - Private guided sightseeing in Inle (private boat)
After breakfast at the hotel, you'll be transfer from hotel to Mandalay airport for your flight to Heho Airport.
Upon arrival in Heho, you'll be met and transferred to Inle Lake(1-hour-drive).
Along the way, you can witness tribal people at work and picturesque hilly region of Shan State.
Upon arrival in Inle, you'll be guided for sightseeing to the places of interest:
 - Floating villages and houses built on stilt
 - Way of lives of fisher men and leg rowers
 - Landmark Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda
 - Ngaphaechaun Monastery
 - Silk weaving work of art of Inle

Day 07...(26 MAR / WED): - Day-return private guided excursion to Indein (private boat)
Breakfast at the hotel.
After that, you will be guided to visit the traditional 5-day-market in one of the villages in the vicinity of Inle Lake.
The 5-day- market rotates around the villages and towns of Shan state, where several tribal people in their colorful costume come from the nearby villages to sell their indigenous agricultural products.
And then, you'll be guided to a nearby village called Indein.
And then, you'll be guided to a nearby village called Indein.
 - a scenic trip up a narrow creek
 - the idyllic site of Indein with its 17th century ruins of pagodas in an 'Indiana Jones' type setting
 - strolling along the trail among the bamboo grove
Return to Inle Lake to relax

Day 08…(27 MAR/ THU): - Free and easy day at leisure in Inle 
Leisurely breakfast at the hotel.
Enjoy free and easy day at leisure for a number of leisurely activities such as to enjoy the spa facilities at the resort,
to enjoy light trekking on the Shan mountains in the vicinity of the lake and to enjoy canoeing around the lake in the vicinity of the resort, etc...
HOTEL: Overnight in Inle


Day 09...(28 MAR / FRI): - Transfer from Inel Lake to Heho Airport to Yangon (private car)
                                      - Fly from Heho to Yangon (FLIGHT: W9201 - 09:35 / 10:45)
                                     - Brief transit in Yangon and depart Yangon (at 19:30)
Breakfast at the hotel
After that, you'll be transferred to Heho airport in a private boat (resort to jetty) and a private car (jetty to airport) for your flight to Yangon. 
Upon arrival in Yangon, you can visit Bogyoke Aung San Market for last minute shopping.
After that, you'll be transferred to Yangon International airport for your flight to onward destinations.

Day 1 (20.03.14) ( Thursday) SIN – YGN (                   09:10 – 10:40)

Arrival Yangon international airport, pick you up and drive to hotel for check in. After short rest and start the sightseeing from Chauk Htat Gyi, reclining Buddha. Then to famous Shwedagon Pagoda, the world greatest pagoda gilded with golden leaves and can see so many pilgrims who offered flowers, incense sticks and candles to Buddha Images. Then to Karaweik Hall, a royal floating barge on Kandawgyi Lake, for photo stops. Late afternoon back to hotel and overnight.

Day 2 (21.03.14) (Friday) YGN – BGN (K 7 – 264/ 14:30 – 15:50)

Relax at the hotel and afternoon drive to airport and domestic flight to Bagan, the richest Archaeological site in Asia where thousands of temples, pagodas and ruins can be seen. From Nyaung U airport to hotel for check in. Full day sightseeing from Shwezigon pagoda, the phototype of later Myanmar stupas, built in early 11th century; Wetkyi-inn Gubyaukgyi temple, with fine mural paintings of Jakata scenes; Htilominlo temple, famous for its plaster carvings. Afternoon Archaeological museum, Anada temple, architectural masterpiece: Anada Okkyaung, a monastery with 18th century mural paintings and Thatbyinyu, the highest temple in Bagan plain for sunset view of Bagan. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 3 (22.03.14) (Saturday) BGN

Morning drive to Myinkaba, is well known for lacquer ware workshops and other interesting temples, Nanphaya temple with giant Buddha Image: the life of prisoner’s impression and Gubyaukgyi temple whicgoh has very nice frescoes. Afternoon Damayangyi temple; the most massive temple, Sulamani and Buphaya for sunset on the bank of the Ayerwaddy river. Overnight in Bagan.

Late afternoon drive to airport and flight to YGN and overnight in YGN.

Day 4 (23.03.14) (Sunday) BGN - POPA - BGN

In the morning drive to Mt. Popa, home of Myanmar’s most powerful “Nats” or Spirit Gods and Popa Mountain Park operated by Nature and Wildlife Conservation Division. In this area, you will see over 150 different species of medical plants and animals. Late afternoon back to Bagan and overnight.


Day 5 (24.03.14) (Monday) BGN – MDY (K 7 – 262/ 07:35 – 08:10)

Morning flight to Mandalay. Upon arrival, drive to Amarapura and visit Maha Gandaryon Monastery, the Buddhist University, and silk and cotton weaving, U Bein Bridge, 1.2 km long teak bridge and then to Mahamuni Pagoda, Buddha Bronze Image which was casted during Buddha’s life time, duplicate of his features. In the afternoon visit Mandalay Royal Palace, Zaygyo market, Shwenandaw Monastery noted for its wood carvings. The Autumashi (Incomparable) Monastery which is declared National Treasure and Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world’s biggest book for its stone slabs of Buddhist Sculptures and Mandalay Hill for a panoramic view of Mandalay City.

Day 6 (25.03.14) (Tuesday) MDY – MINGHUN - SGN - MDY

Early morning excursion to Mingun, crossing the Ayerwaddy River by boat and huge unfinished Mingun Pagoda, Mingun Bell which weighs 90 tons and the Settawya Buddha’s footprint pagoda. Return to Mandalay. Afternoon visit Sagaing over Ava Bridge across the Ayerwaddy River. Sagaing Kaungmudaw, an enormous dome shaped pagoda and Sagaing Hills with monasteries with monks and nuns, all with shaven heads and robed devoted to Buddhism. Back to Mandalay and overnight.

Day 7 (26.03.14) (Wednesday) MDY – HEHO – INLE (K 7 – 267/ 10:20 – 10:55)

Morning flight to Heho, drive to Nyaung Shwe, small town at the end of Inle lake. From here transfer to your hotel by boat and check in. Sightseeing start from Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, five Buddha Images almost shapeless because of the thick gilded of the believers, and floating market , many colourful tribes and seasonal fruits and vegetables buying and selling, then to Inn Paw Khon, silk weaving village and Nga Phe Chaung ( the biggest and oldest monastery around Inle lake).  Overnight in Inle.

Day 8 (27.03.14) (Thursday) INLE – HEH – YGN (K 7 – 829/ 13:50 – 15:05)

After breakfast, go to floating market , many colourful tribes and seasonal fruits and vegetables buying and selling. Then back to hotel and check out and drive to Heho and flight to YGN and overnight in YGN.

Day 9 (28.03.14) (Friday) YGN – SIN (  19:30 -             )

After breakfast sight seeing around city from Sule Pagoda, over 2000 years dating back, Mahabandoola Park with Independence Monument, the historic buildings such as City Hall, the High Court, Port Commissioner, the Strand Hotel, General Post Office and Secretariat. Then back to hotel and overnight. Then visit to Bogyoke market, many souvenir and jewellery shops there. Then back to hotel and drive to international airport and flight to Singapore.
